NOV 2022 – On 8th November, the 4th online peer learning workshop took place of the PS4SD project Peer to Peer for Sustainability in Impact Assessment. With five excellent speakers, and 54 participants registered from 21 EU member states, the European Commission and the OECD, the four-hour workshop was full of energy. JULY 2022 – At the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) on the SDGs in July, the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government of UN DESA organised on 15 July an online Voluntary National Review (VNR) Lab entitled: Looking forward: Recent innovations in institutional arrangements for SDG implementation. As panelist, Louis Meuleman presented some innovative practices, among others the mainstreaming of SDGs in Regulatory Impact Assessments.
JUNE 2022 – On 14th June, the (hybrid) final event of the first phase of the project on Peer to Peer for mainstreaming SDGs in Regulatory Impact Asssessment, financed with a grant from the German Federal Environment Ministry, had participants from 16 EU member states, the European Commission and the OECD. The results of the project, and ideas for follow-up, will be presented at the Council Working Party on the 2030 Agenda, under the Czech EU Presidency.

MAY 2022 – Louis Meuleman and Ingeborg Niestroy were both invited to speak at a European Online-Conference on 30 May 2022, at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer, on Sustainable and carbon-neutral public administration in Europe – how can practitioners, scholars and national schools of public administration support each other’s progress?
APR 2022 – From 4-8 April 2022, the 21st Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration took place at the UN Head Quarters in New York. Louis Meuleman was as CEPA Bureau member involved in the preparations and will participate. See agenda and documents.
MAR 2022 – On 23rd March 2022, Louis Meuleman spoke about how metagovernance could play a role in global governance for oceans, at an event in the context of the Monaco Ocean Week.
MAR 2022 – On 16 March, Louis Meuleman gavee a guest lecture on metagovernance (in a context of sustainability), at the IML 37 training of the Netherlands School for Public Administration in The Hague.
FEB 2022 – From 31 February until 3 March 2022, the annual Sustainable Development Transformation Forum was held in Incheon, Republic of Korea, this year again in a virtual form. The theme aligns with the topics for the 2022 High-Level Political Forum on the SDGs. PS4SD’s Louis Meuleman spoke about quality education (SDG 4). Ingeborg Niestroy spoke on Life on Land (SDG 15).
FEB 2022 – On 24 February, the first peer 2 peer workshop in a series of three on mainstreaming the SDGs in Regulatory Impact Assessment was conducted by PS4SD, with over 30 policymakers from 12 countries, as well as the European Commission and the OECD. The PS4SD team consists of Louis Meuleman, Andreas Versmann, Ingeborg Niestroy, Francesca Valentini and Isaac Caiger-Smith. The second workshop took place on 29 March, and the third on 28 April 2022.

5 November 2021 – Ingeborg Niestroy gave a guest lecture in the course ‘Sustainable Innovation’ at the TU Berlin, on governance for sustainable development and the SDGs at various levels (national , EU international). The course is lead by Dr. Rainer Quitzow (also at the IASS).
3 June 2021 – Ingeborg gave a keynote at the Online Networking Conference ›Dialogue for the Future 2021‹, which was part of the program Expanding Cooperation with Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia (Eastern Partnership Programme, German Foreign Office). 2 March 2021 – Ingeborg gave a guest lecture in the CEU (Central European University) course SDGT Sustainable Development and Global Transitions, chaired by Prof. Laszlo Pinter. She presented how SDG implementation works in practice in Europe. On the basis of the SDG study for the EP (2019) she gave an overview of Europe’s approach to implementing the SDGs, illustrated the analytic framework for analysing the governance for SDG implementation and illustrations, and presented country highlights.
3 NOV 2021 – At the 36th edition of the Inter-Ministerial Management Course (IML) organised by the Netherlands School for Public Governance (NSOB) in The Hague, Louis Meuleman presented and discussed with participants on the concept of metagovernance.
28-30 OCT 2021 – Louis Meuleman participated and spoke at the Workshop on Accelerating the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda and AU Agenda 2063 in Africa: Building Resilient Institutions for the SDGs in the time of COVID-19, organised by the African Union and UNDESA, in Cape Town, South Africa.
28 SEPT 2021 – Louis Meuleman gave an online guest lecture on public administration and governance for the sustainable development goals, at the School of Governance and Politics of the MGIMO University in Moscow.
