Project for the UNEP’s Crisis Management Branch: using the DPSIR framework to analyse potential benefits and dangers associated with an expansion of domestic palm oil production in Bougainville, SE Asia (soon to be the world’s newest nation). I was tasked with researching and writing a 6000 word chapter on this topic for a UNEP report that will be used to inform independence negotations between the island of Bougainvlle and Papua New Guinea.

Tasks included: formulating a research proposal and securing £2000 of funding from my university; conducting in depth semi-structured interviews with a range of sustainability professionals; literature reviews; frequent presentations of my work to academic audiences; writing an academic journal article (currently in the process of submission).
