Louis Meuleman is currently Acting Chair of the Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency (EEA) in Copenhagen. On 25 & 26 Februari 2025, the newly composed Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency kicked off in Copenhagen. An incredible team of ‘critical friends’ of the Agency, with an inspiring mix of ‘old’ and ‘new’ members, and EEA experts bringing us up to date.

In May, our 91th session will among others discuss knowledge questions around industrial transition including green jobs. Other topics we will take up this year include a knowledge agenda emerging from the SOER 2025 report; strategic foresight; and links between climate change, pollution and AI. Inclusiveness and the ‘people’ dimension of transitions will be a common thread. Many thanks to the EEA ED Leena Ylä-Mononen and her team for making all of this possible!
